Another soaking rain for the Red River valley

Southern Manitoba once again received more rain Thursday night on already saturated grounds. A storm system moving through the Dakotas brought rainfall amounts of 20 to 50 mm over the Red River Valley Thursday through Thursday night with over 60 mm falling over extreme southeastern Manitoba.

Here is a summary of some of the more significant rainfall amounts reported over the last 24 hours as of 8 AM Friday morning.

  1. It was sure nice to see the sun come out today after last night's soaker. I was expecting another dull overcast day behind the system, but it turned nto a beautiful day. I think we have finally turned the corner! Things looking really nice for the weekend through much of next week or so with possibly no rain through the whole period. Of course not.. soccer's over!

    Sunday still looking like possibly the warmest day of the month with temperatures of 21-24C possible in Winnipeg. Gusty south winds of 40-60 km/h however will take a bit away from what should be an otherwise fine fall day..
